Training and Technology Development vice Presidency

Introduction

Training and research are two important and key factors to improve any country’s development. In this regard, the building and road industries are not an exception. The science and technology have increasingly grown in recent decades such that considering the specialized training as one of the development tools seems to be necessary for adaptation with the changes. Research also can find its real identity and status along with proper training.

According to Article 2 of the Statute of BHRC, organizing conferences, seminars and training courses in cooperation with the relevant organizations is one of the tasks of BHRC. In this regard, Training Vice Presidency planned the first training seminar called “Types of Concrete and its application in building construction” in 1986 and officially launched its activities since November 1987 in cooperation with Technical Faculty of Tehran University, and is proud of organizing about 1,000 training courses, technical seminars, national and international conferences during more than three decades providing remarkable services to the engineering community of the Country.

Goals

Promulgation of knowledge in different of fields of roads, housing and urban development and transportation by conducting training courses, conferences, meetings, lectures, technical workshops and virtual courses;

Developing scientific and competency of labor force in the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, companies and engineers in the fields of architecture and urban development, rehabilitation of dilapidated patterns and housing;

Student admission for undergraduate and B.S degrees approved by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in technical majors required for professional labor force for the ministry of Roads and Urban Development by providing suitable structures in colleges of Tafvizi, Loushan and Vocational College of Yazd;

Improving efficiency in building and transportation industry by improving professional skills;

Developing information sources including books, rules and regulations, journals, articles, eBooks, technical databases, facilitating the access for experts, researchers and university students to resources and documents required for improving research and studies required for the country;

Developing efficient and standard information system for facilitating planning, decision making and conducting studies in the fields of roads, housing and urban development by developing technical database and technical news related to applied need analysis and up-to-dated from experts ad in charge organizations;

Cooperation in compilation of codes for intellectual properties and findings of the center and facilitating the transfer of research findings while observing the center’s rights;

 

Responsibilities

Directing, leading and guiding subordinate managements and the BHRC affiliated training units and also monitoring their performance;

Needs assessment, policy-making, planning and prioritizing training, information dissemination and commercialization, and preparing educational programs;

Planning and prioritization of training and development of technologies;

Proposing annual budget required for training activities;

Development of communication with relevant industries and associations to attract their participation in the need assessment and training activities;

Developing a feedback system for the results achieved from training and promotion of research findings in the engineering community;

Organizing meetings with the Board of Education to plan training programs, approval of the annual training calendar, examining courses, seminars and the like;

Review and propose national and international seminars and conferences in collaboration with the Vice Presidency of Research and Technology and presenting to the Director;

Interaction and cooperation with research centers and universities to hold training courses, seminars and conferences;

Monitoring and controlling the execution of training programs held by educational centers across the country;

Identification of the advanced educational facilities of  road, building, housing, urban development and architecture inside and outside the country through the concerned authorities;

Planning the establishment of educational committees;

Collection, development and appropriate notification of scientific and technical information;

Planning to support innovations and development of new technologies;

Planning for the commercialization of research achievements and innovations;

Planning, preparing and developing specialized databases.

Planning and supervision on holding during service educational courses for the staffs of the Ministry of Road and Urban Development and its affiliated organizations;

Planning and supervision on student acceptance in technical courses via overall test in post diploma and BS levels;

Planning and supervision on education of MS and Phd students in civil engineering through the country overall test.
